Top 5 Social Apps in Egypt Q1 2023: Unified Platform Insights

Throughout the first quarter of 2023, the top five social apps in Egypt displayed diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Bigo Live - Live Streaming App, and X.

TikTok experienced a notable decrease in weekly revenue from $126K in early January to around $57K by the end of March. Weekly downloads also trended downward, starting at roughly 664K and dropping to about 253K. Active users saw a gradual decline, moving from 15.1M to approximately 13.9M over the quarter.

Facebook saw a rise in revenue, peaking at $2K in late February. Downloads decreased steadily, from 382K at the beginning of the quarter to around 229K by the end. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 42M mark throughout the quarter.

Instagram demonstrated consistent revenue, hovering around the $200 mark by the end of March. Downloads showed a gradual decline from 381K to roughly 200K. Active users also saw a decrease, starting at 11.8M and ending at approximately 10.9M.

Bigo Live - Live Streaming App had its revenue peak at $11.5K in late January, but it tapered to around $5.2K by the end of March. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 77K, and later declining to about 53K. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 520K mark.

X saw a significant surge in revenue, peaking dramatically at $2.2K in early March. Downloads decreased from 63.6K to around 52.1K. Active users remained stable around 6.8M throughout the quarter.
